mark my words...

Brian is fiercely competitive, Kaitlyn's preschool is having a trike-a-thon this month, and as soon as I tell him about it, I guarantee he'll set up a tricycle training course in our backyard...yes, you read that right! Kaitlyn will win because he'll put her through a rigorous tricycle boot camp before the trike-a-thon...you watch!

We got sparkly diamonds!!!

Kaitlyn's reward for no more thumb sucking was to get "sparkly diamond earrings" and with the help from the "thumb fairy" the process went rather quickly! We convinced Kaitlyn that she should go first (with some help from Daddy promising if she did he'd buy her more Geo Trax) and that was the plan all the way up until the ear piercing guns were brought out - and she hopped off my lap, and I had to go first! To be honest I thought it was really going to hurt, but I had to show no fear beacause I didn't want to scare her. It really didn't hurt at all, and once she saw my sparkly diamonds she wanted to get her ears sparkly too. Kaitlyn filled with excitement...this was before she saw those ear piercing guns.
Alison waiting patiently, as we are convincing Kaitlyn that it doesn't hurt.
Kaitlyn just after...I think she's either in shock or mad.
Here she is looking all mad, but after she saw those sparkly diamonds she was happy - oh Brian's in for some trouble...3 girls, 3 pairs of REAL diamond earrings = B-R-O-K-E!!!

I know...I know...

Okay...so it's been over 2 weeks since my last post...so I'm already slacking on keeping this blog up weekly...Kaitlyn had a roller skating party for school...she did okay, but was done after about 3 rounds around the rink. Alison was crazy running all over the rink - thus the reason there are no pictures of her. What other fun news is upon our family??? Kaitlyn is doing so well not sucking her thumb, that it looks like by next Friday her and I will be getting our ears pierced! In other news...Alison is proving to be a hot headed, fit throwing, mischievous little ANGEL! I'm sure if I have the camera with me, I can snap some good shots of her up to no good and maybe get a video of one of her famous fits when she doesn't get her way.

Kaitlyn's 1st Dental Appointment!

Kaitlyn went to dentist today for the first time. She did really well sitting there, while they took x-rays and cleaned her teeth. As you can imagine my little curious girl, asked questions about everything, and what all the tools did, and who did what and why??? We went to a pediatric dentist and they explained everything in detail to help her understand, which was great. At the end Kaitlyn got a goodie bag for doing so well, and she picked out a Cinderella toothbrush!

Rewind...back to December - Kaitlyn's Christmas Program

Okay...I know Christmas is over - but I just got these great pictures of Kaitlyn and her little school friends singing their hearts out at the Annual First Presbyterian Christian Preschool Christmas Program...whew! There is something special about preschool teachers...to get 100 kids to walk down an isle of a Church packed with hundreds of proud parents and family oohing and awing, then get the kids in place, get them to stand still (somewhat) and sing without a catastrophe, is amazing to me! It was the best part of the Christmas season, and can't wait for next years program! Kaitlyn & her "best" school friend Kylee
Kaitlyn watching Kylee...notice some kids are singing, some are just looking around...it was halarious!
Kaitlyn, Kylee and Garrett singing their hearts out...look how Kaitlyn is really concentrating.
Kailtyn is tired, I have a picture of her yawning too...at this point it was 7:30 p.m....past her normal bed time!

Snow Day 2008 - New Years Day

Happy New Year!!! We celebrated the new year by taking Kaitlyn and Alison up to play in the snow.
It was Alison's first time to play in the snow, and she LOVED it - she kicked and screamed if I picked her up. We built a snowman and went sledding...Alison cracked up when we took her sledding - even when her and Daddy crashed. Kaitlyn had the most fun building sledding tracks, and going super fast.
We figured we better get up there today, since later this week the Sierras are supposed to get 10 feet of snow. Kaitlyn was already asking us to go back on the way home.

Alison's first time in the snow...she LOVED it!

Christmas 2007

Wow!!! I can not believe Christmas has already come and gone. This was a magical Christmas for us, not because of the gifts we received but because of the awe and joy we saw in Kaitlyn's eyes when we spoke of Santa and this year Kaitlyn could actually understand the true meaning of Christmas (not the commercialized version.) Alison was intrigued by the lights, music, and decorations of the season. Both girls enjoyed putting their own ornaments on their bedroom Christmas trees, Kaitlyn loved watching Polar Express and going to look at Christmas lights. The best gift I received this year was watching Kaitlyn at her Christmas program...and when they asked Kaitlyn what she loved about Christmas she said "put up lights outside with my daddy" it was priceless.

Kaitlyn and Alison in their Christmas jammies...the only present they get to open on Christmas Eve...Kaitlyn was a little disappointed it wasn't a toy.
Kaitlyn got a JEEP!!! Alison LOVES it too!
Alison loving up on Oliver - Grammy and Pop's Dog...she couldn't get enough of him. I think he was getting a little sick of her, but he tolerated her well. What a sport!
